Bottom-Up Approach
The bottom-up approach to offender profiling, also called the British approach, relies on data and statistics from similar crimes to predict characteristics of an offender. Investigative psychology, developed by David Canter, is an example of this approach, using empirical evidence and analysis to understand and make predictions about criminal behaviour.
