Atypical Sex Chromosome Patterns
Getting too many or too few copies of sex chromosomes can create unusual patterns, causing significant developmental issues. For instance, guys with an extra X chromosome (XXY) might have Klinefelter’s syndrome, making them tall but sometimes causing fertility problems. Turner syndrome is another condition with an unusual chromosome pattern, where females have just one X chromosome (X0), making them short and often delaying puberty. Some with Turner syndrome may also experience kidney or heart problems.
