DETECTIVE MYSTERY ACTIVITY PACK AGES 4–7
The Missing Cookies Mystery | 17 Logic, Clue & Puzzle Activities
Can your little detective solve the mystery of the missing cookies?
Welcome to Milcho & Sherri Detective Academy – Case #001: The Missing Cookies Mystery!
This 21-page printable detective adventure turns early learning into an exciting mystery-solving experience for children aged 4–7.
Milcho & Sherri are getting ready for a picnic. Milk, cookies, an apple and a basket are waiting on the table. But when they go to collect the picnic blanket, something mysterious happens...
THE COOKIES DISAPPEAR!
Now Milcho becomes Chief Detective, Sherri records the clues, and young learners are invited to join the investigation.
Children will examine evidence, meet the suspects, search for clues, compare fingerprints, match shadows, count evidence, eliminate suspects, decode a secret message, solve mazes, put the story in order and finally decide who took the missing cookies.
This is much more than a collection of worksheets.
Every activity forms part of one continuous detective story, giving children a reason to observe carefully, think logically and use the clues they discover along the way.
THE MYSTERY
Three suspects were near the picnic table when the cookies disappeared:
• Ricky Raccoon – loves sweets!
• Freddy Fox – very fast!
• Sally Squirrel – collects food!
But who took the cookies?
Children must complete the investigation before they can reveal the answer.

ELIMINATE THE SUSPECTS
Now the investigation becomes serious!

This activity encourages:
• Deductive reasoning
• Eliminating possibilities
• Logical thinking
• Using evidence
• Problem solving

SOLVE THE MYSTERY
After investigating the evidence, children make their final decision.
Who is the cookie thief?
Ricky?
Freddy?
Sally?
Children select their suspect and then explain WHY, using at least two clues from their investigation.

It supports:
• Evidence-based thinking

LEARNING THROUGH MYSTERY & PLAY
The real strength of this resource is that the educational activities are connected by one continuous story.
Children aren't simply told:
“Complete this matching worksheet.”
Instead, they are matching evidence because they are detectives trying to solve a case.
They aren't simply completing a maze.
They are following paw prints towards a suspect's hideout.
They aren't simply sequencing pictures.
They are reconstructing what happened during their investigation.
This story-based approach gives the activities purpose and makes learning feel like an adventure.
