Anti-anxiety drugs
Anti-anxiety drugs are medications prescribed to help manage and alleviate symptoms of anxiety disorders. These drugs, also known as anxiolytics, work by affecting the neurotransmitters in the brain, such as gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), to produce a calming effect. Common classes of anti-anxiety drugs include benzodiazepines, selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), and beta-blockers, each with its own mechanism of action and potential side effects.
