Does cellulite go away?

Cellulite, the appearance of dimpled skin with a cottage cheese-like texture, is widespread in women and even in some men. It is most commonly found on the thighs, buttocks, or belly, but it can also be found on the breasts or upper arms. Although cellulite makes many people feel self-conscious, it's vital to remember that you're not alone: at least 8 out of 10 women have some degree of cellulite.

The good news is that the condition is not cause for concern from a medical standpoint. Unfortunately, there are no tried-and-true procedures for completely eliminating cellulite. However, there is an home cellulite treatment that has got many some fabulous results in terms of reducing the appearance of cellulite. Check it out here:

What is cellulite?

Cellulite is caused by the breakdown of normal fat underneath the skin. The layer of fat in locations where cellulite is common comprises fibrous connective cords that hold your skin to your muscle. Fat cells are attached to connective tissue cords, but the connecting fibres deteriorate over time. When this occurs, the surrounding fat begins to separate and push up on the skin. This process occurs in several places of the body but may go unnoticed. When the process begins on your legs, buttocks, or other cellulite-prone areas, the result is dimpled or uneven skin.

Cellulite can develop or become more visible as a result of weight increase. Cellulite is most likely to appear in areas of your body where there is an increase in fat tissue. Cellulite can also appear in areas where there is a lot of friction or rubbing, such as the upper arms or inner thighs.

Cellulite becomes increasingly common as we age. This is due to the skin losing some of its flexibility over time, causing the prominence of existing cellulite to become more visible. Cellulite can appear in very thin people, therefore genetics may play a role in whether or not you get it.

Because cellulite is found in the fatty tissue beneath the skin, any claims that a cream or lotion can remove it are simply false. The same is true for cellulite-treating goods or devices: there is little to no scientific proof to back up these claims.

Losing weight and strengthening the muscles in the thighs, buttocks, and belly may make cellulite less visible in those regions, but it will not disappear completely. This is due to the fact that once a fat cell grows, it is yours for life.

Weight reduction merely shrinks the contents of fat cells, not the fat cells themselves. Maintaining a healthy weight throughout your life is the most effective approach to avoid the appearance of new cellulite.

Finally, if you're concerned about the look of cellulite, finding ways to cover yourself artistically for example with leggings that hide cellulite might help you feel less self-conscious about your body.
